My Bio

Name: Suzie Richards
Location: Leeds (displaced West Country lass, originally from North Somerset)
Mostly found: Running/cycling around Yorkshire in Lycra (preferably where there are hills,I love a hill!)
How I buy my coffee and cake: I am a level 2 BTF Triathlon coach, my assessor and mentor on the coaching course was Rob Wilby, Owner and coach of Oxygen Addict Coaching, who invited me to coach at Oxygen Addict. Here I learnt a lot, coaching 1:1 athletes for 2 years. I no-longer coach under Oxygen Addict, but thank them for everything I learnt. I current coach 1:1 athletes, of all ages, competing in distances from sprint to Ironman.
Previously I worked a variety of jobs at Teach First, the graduate programme where I was a Geography Teacher in the 2009 cohort in London.
Sporting background: I grew up playing a whole range of sports. I competed for the Avon County team in Netball, Hockey, Tennis , Athletics and Cross Country. Bit of a jack of all trades. I focused my energy purely on running while studying at Loughborough University. I ranked 3rd U23, in UK in the 10,000m on the track in 2009 and competing in cross country running, finishing top 50 in the national cross as a senior. I moved to London for my first job and discovered some of the runners at Herne Hill Athletics club were also triathletes. I bought a bike, entered a Duathlon in the summer of 2011, then a triathlon and the rest is history. I moved to Leeds in October 2011 and joined Leeds Bradford Triathlon Club and attended my very first coached swim session, 2012 was my first proper triathlon season.
Ambition: To be the best Triathlete I can be. Taking away the "Age group" part of my World Champion Title would be nice.
